Meet the America Party candidate for the 40th Disctrict
As part of our continuing effort to meet and vet all the candidates in this election cycle, on May 13 we will be hearing from the candidate for the American Party for the 40th District of the Florida Legislature: PLATFORM AND WHO I AM: My life's work has been dedicated to positive change in the lives of others; specifically at-risk children and their families. I embrace traditional values, as my wife, Tonya A. Sharrett-Shoemaker, and I have been married 26 years this year. We have 3 children (Brian, Chris, and Nicole) and 7 grandchildren. We are members of Medulla Baptist Church, Lakeland, Florida and dedicated to the community as a member of the Lakeland Christina Rotary Club, member of the Medulla Elementary School Advisory Council, District Advisory Council for Polk County Schools and Treasurer of America's Party of Florida. I have a Bachelor of Art's degree in Psychology from The Union Institute, Cincinnati, Ohio; a Master of Art's degree in Biblical Counseling fro Trinity Bible College & Seminary, Newburgh, Indiana; and presently completing my Dissertation for a PhD in Psychology from Northcentral University. As your state representative for District 40 and a "Constitutional Conservative", I pledge to provide new accountable leadership that understands and will actively preserve and protect the foundation of this great republic and principles that built it; restore in the people's minds of the principles of the declaration; restore respect for the God-given rights of the People; advocate for a return in our laws and public policies to equal protection for the life, liberty, and the property of every person, unborn and born; abolish the state's heavy hand of government off the throats of our Florida's businesses (my vision for restoring the only true basis for a sound, prosperous, and growing economy); oppose Common Core and re-establish true local control over our schools; and advocate for the elderly, orphans, and disabled. The most important issue to me as it relates to politics is the preservation of Faith, Family and Freedom. The only hope for America and the preservation of Faith, Family and Freedom and our posterity is to return to the great principles of the Declaration of Independence. "The liberty enjoyed by the people of these states of worshiping Almighty God agreeably to their conscience, is not only among the choicest of their blessings, but also of their rights."-George Washington

    What we're about

Do you believe in at least 7 of The Nine Principles below?

    1. America is good.

    2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

    3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

    4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

    5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

    6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

    7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

    8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

    9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

12 Values: Honesty, Reverence, Hope, Thrift, Humility, Charity, Sincerity, Moderation, Hard Work, Courage, Personal Responsibility, and Gratitude.

    You Are Not Alone

Have you ever felt like you're the only one in your community that see's what's happening to America? Well, you're not. Many Americans understand that Washington is broken. Many times it seems that the political solution is the problem. No more. Our founders knew the solution is We The People.
