Helvellyn - 7.5 miles (Glenridding Weekend 1)

This is the first of two walks I am hosting from Glenridding over the weekend 1st and 2nd June. This one on the Saturday and a more relaxing low level one on the Sunday. Feel free to book yourself on one or both of them.

This is a 7.5 mile circular walk setting off from Glenridding up Helvellyn via Swirral Edge. Going down via Striding Edge.

There is some grade 1 easy scrambling on Swirral Edge and Striding Edge. If anyone is struggling we will divert and take an alternate route. We won’t abandon anyone on the mountain. This walk is weather dependent, so if the weather is too bad (or the mountain is completely covered in cloud) I will arrange an alternative walk from the same location and reschedule Helvellyn for another time.
Dogs are allowed on the walk, but you need to be confident your dog can handle it. Some dogs may get nervous going over the edges. They will need to be off lead on this part of the walk for your own safety, so you will need good recall.

Meet outside Ullswater Information Centre in the car park at Glenridding. Please bring plenty to drink and a bite to eat.
