🌲 Heywood Valleys & Woodland Walk 🌊
📍 Start/Finish: Queens Park Car Park, Heywood
🚶‍♀️ Distance: Around 8–9 miles
⏱️ Time: 5-6 hours (including breaks)
🥾 Difficulty: Moderate – some climbs, muddy trails, and uneven ground

Join us for an adventurous circular walk exploring some of Heywood’s most beautiful and lesser-known landscapes!

We’ll set off from Queens Park Car Park, winding our way through Windy Cliff Wood and Black Dad Wood, before dropping into the stunning Cheesden Valley – a peaceful spot full of old mill ruins, rolling hills, and plenty of wildlife.

From there, we’ll head through Deeply Vale, a hidden gem with fascinating history, and follow scenic tracks into Ashworth Valley, stopping to enjoy the views at the lovely Ashworth Waterfall. We’ll also pass Ashworth Mill before looping back to Queens Park to finish.

Expect a great mix of woodland paths, open countryside, and valley views – plus plenty of good company and fresh air!

Bring a packed lunch, snacks, and drinks. Waterproofs and walking boots are strongly recommended as it can get muddy in places.

🐾 Dogs welcome if friendly and under control.
