Water Meetings, Weets Hill & Foulridge - 12 Miles
Details
We begin from the car park opposite Pendle Heritage Centre and follow riverside paths through Water Meetings, where Pendle Water and Colne Water meet. This scenic section provides a gentle start before the main climb.
From Water Meetings we head uphill onto Weets Hill, with the route gradually opening up to expansive views across Pendle, the Ribble Valley and surrounding countryside. At the top we reach the Weets Hill trig point, our highest point and a perfect place for a short break and photos.
We then descend the far side of Weets Hill, passing the striking Head Sculpture, before continuing downhill to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. From here the walking becomes flatter and more relaxed.
We follow the canal towpath through Foulridge, enjoying peaceful waterside views, before continuing back along the canal to Barrowford, finishing close to our starting point.
