I know you’ve likely re-positioned your tins of paint and garden tools to fit your bike back into the shed. But before the frost hits it’s time to show it some end of season love and join us to cycle The Preston Guild Wheel!

The Guild Wheel is a fantastic circular route of approximately 21 miles, taking us through a variety of landscapes around Preston, including riverside paths, parks, woodland and open countryside.

I've cycled the route several times, it’s very well signposted indeed. However, sections can change due to diversions and ongoing works, so we'll all keep an eye out for any signs and updates along the way.

🚴 The Plan

Distance: Approximately 21 miles
(slightly shorter as some sections have been rerouted)

Pace: Leisurely, with time to enjoy the surroundings.

Terrain: A mixture of surfaced paths, cycleways and some sections that may be uneven.

Stops: Midway cafe break at The Pavilion Cafe in Avenham Park.
We'll take breaks as needed, so there's time to catch our breath and have a chat.

🎒 What to Bring
A roadworthy bike
Helmet
Water and snacks
Weather-appropriate clothing
A spare inner tube or puncture repair kit, if you have one.

(I’m pretty handy with puncture repairs and if anyone else is please let me know as it’s good to have additional practical types).

November weather can be unpredictable, so come prepared for the conditions! Though so far it looks sunny.

This is a great opportunity to get out on the bike, enjoy some fresh air and meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts. But please be sure of your own ability to cycle 21 miles, mainly flat with a few short steep sections.

Everyone welcome! 😊
