Baslow Edge - Peak District

Details
10 - 11 miles with 400m of ascent
We will set off from the Nether End car park in Baslow, heading up a country lane which will take us up onto Baslow Edge. It is a little steep in a couple of places so we will take our time at a gentle pace.
Once on Baslow Edge, we can see the Wellington Monument and Eagle Stone and if we are super lucky.....maybe the free-roaming herd of Highland Cows. I've been lucky enough to photograph them up here amongst the beautiful heather over the last couple of years, so fingers crossed for this visit! On a clear day we may have views taking in the Chatsworth Estate and Kinder Plateau.
We'll carry on across the top of Baslow Edge onto Curbar Edge & Froggart Edge, before dropping down through Hay Woods and returning via the Derwent Heritage Way which runs alongside the River Derwent.
Meeting point - Nether End car park (toilets here)
Parking £6 - £7 for the day (some free street parking is available for early birds)
What to bring
Bring layers / waterproofs, packed lunch and plenty of water to drink
Walking poles recommended
