LANGDALE VALLEY from ELTERWATER

Classic Lakeland Wellness Walk
One of a Series of Mountain & Wellness Walks Easy Paced Scenic, yet Low Level Lake District Walks for 2025

A lovely Valley Walk of around 7.5mls with 320m of accumulate ascent.

We’ll be head west from Elterwater heading up into the Langdale Valley surrounded by the Awesome Pikes, eventually reaching the Old Dungeon Ghyll. From there we’ll head back mostly along the river, returning via Chapel Stile to Elterwater where the hospitable Britannia Inn should be available for refreshments.

Dress for the weather, pack anorak, waterproofs, hat/gloves, spare fleece or top, wicking mountain shirt, ideally mountain trousers No jeans wear boots.

Take packed lunch, warm drink, water.

Dogs: OK but only 1pp up to a maximum of 3 for the group. Must be friendly, no noisy yappy dogs, must remain under close control during walk.
1 guest pp, it would be great if guests eventually made a commitment to walking & joined the group.
