Walking with Jane Eyre, Cowan Bridge. 7 miles 3rd time lucky.

Third time lucky!! As there is a lot of hanging about talking on this walk, good weather is preferable - don't want folk getting "consumption!"

A Bronte walk. Starting from Leck church and the "fever graves" of the school children we will walk to the real "Lowood House" the fictional school of Jane Eyre - now an airbnb! Formerly the clergyman's daughters school where the Bronte girls attended. From here we will walk to Tunstall Church, as the older school girls did every Sunday to attend two services each Sunday. Re turning to Cowan Bridge mainly on roads, for refreshments.

Mainly on field and farm tracks. some stiles etc and a short section on the busy A683, where we pass the site of Calacvm Roman Fort .

Total ascent 322ft.
Bring lunch, drinks, dress for the weather.
