Earby Circular (10 miles moderate walk) Please note - Saturday walk
Details
We’ll walk though the small town of Earby, following a beck and passing the historic YHA and its nearby waterfall. We follow a farm track and walk through fields to reach the moors overlooking Elslack Reservoir before following the Pennine Way down into the pretty village of Lothersdale. We'll then head back on a lower level to our starting point. There are great views to be had on a good day and the terrain is a mixture of moorland, woods and green fields.
The tracks can be muddy so please wear good shoes or boots.
Meeting place: Victoria Road Car Park, Earby. BB18 6US.
Parking and toilets: There are 2 carparks very close to each other: Victoria Road and Albert Street. We'll meet in the Victoria Road one as there are public toilets here. These require contactless payment. As it is a Saturday, the town might be busy, so please allow for this.
The suggested donation for non-Ramblers Association (RA) members is £2 to cover Meet-up costs.
Please note that we restrict the number of places available on Meet-up as (unlike other Meet-up groups) we have a significant number of Ramblers who attend our walks and who are not required to book as attending via this app. We would, therefore, respectfully request that you do not reserve a place on any walk unless you are sure that you will attend.
Alternatively, why not join us and be a part of the Ramblers for a small annual subscription? Membership guarantees a place on all 'Hike on Lancashire' walks and ensures priority access to events organised by the Group. You can also walk with any other Ramblers Group across the UK.
Annual subscriptions go toward maintaining paths and allow the RA to campaign for improved access to the countryside. You will also receive the monthly 'Walk' magazine and a 15% discount at Cotswold Outdoors.
