A scenic walk through the often forgotten but beautiful Winster Valley with views of Lakeland fells and down to Windermere.

This is another attempt get the great views on this walk following our very wet and cloudy attempt last year!

We start from Bowland Bridge and walk along tracks, quiet roads and through lovely woodland areas and passing tarns. On our return leg there a great views down to Windermere beneath us.
There is limited parking in Bowland Bridge so car sharing is important. Please use the meet up message board to facilitate this if necessary. Meeting spots are available at J34 park and ride. There is also the option to use Gilpin Bridge at Bridgend (LA8 8EL) as a meeting spot.
Parking is on the roadside so please be considerate. If no parking is left in Bowland bridge then it is possible to park at Strawberry Bank and walk down 10 minutes. We will return via this route.

The suggested donation for non-Ramblers Association (RA) members is £2 to cover Meet-up costs.
Members, please have your card available.

Please note that we restrict the number of places available on Meet-up as (unlike other Meet-up groups) we have a significant number of Ramblers who attend our walks and who are not required to book as attending via this app. We would, therefore, respectfully request that you do not reserve a place on any walk unless you are sure that you will attend.

Alternatively, why not join us and be a part of the Ramblers for a small annual subscription? Membership guarantees a place on all 'Hike on Lancashire' walks and ensures priority access to events organised by the Group. You can also walk with any other Ramblers Group across the UK.
Annual subscriptions go toward maintaining paths and allow the RA to campaign for improved access to the countryside. You will also receive the monthly 'Walk' magazine and a 15% discount at Cotswold Outdoors.

You can join by following the link below https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership
Please select Hike on Lancashire as your preferred Group.
