Ramsbottom to Bury via Holcombe Moor and Peel Tower (11 mile hard walk)

A lovely linear walk from Ramsbottom to Bury via Holcombe Moor and Peel Tower. We will meet at Bury Interchange and take the 10:27 bus (£2 fare) for the 15 minute ride to Ramsbottom. From Ramsbottom, we follow the Irwell sculpture trail to the village of Irwell Vale from where we climb steadily on to Holcombe Moor. Once on the moor we traverse the tops via Pilgrims Cross to Peel Tower. We then descend to the lovely village of Summerseat where we rejoin the sculpture trail and head to Butts Park and then to Bury. We will then go for post walk refreshments at The Trackside on Bury Bolton Street station.
The moors will be muddy so suitable walking boots or shoes are required.
