A figure of eight, moderate walk from Abbeystead with fantastic views of a beautiful and quiet part of the Trough of Bowland.

Leaving from Abbeystead we will head off on an initial 8 mile loop to take us past Abbeystead House and up into the Wyre catchment through Marshaw and Tarnbrook.

Following the water to the start of the river takes us across fields and some lovely views.
We then loop back down to Abbeystead and around the weir and through the woodland area by the river.

Walkers may choose to leave at the 8 mile point and return back to their car or continue with the group for the full 11 miles.
Depending on the weather there can be muddy and wet parts of this walk alongside uneven ground so please wear walking boots.

The suggested donation for non-Ramblers Association (RA) members is £2 to cover Meet-up costs.

Please note that we restrict the number of places available on Meet-up as (unlike other Meet-up groups) we have a significant number of Ramblers who attend our walks and who are not required to book as attending via this app. We would, therefore, respectfully request that you do not reserve a place on any walk unless you are sure that you will attend.

Alternatively, why not join us and be a part of the Ramblers for a small annual subscription? Membership guarantees a place on all 'Hike on Lancashire' walks and ensures priority access to events organised by the Group. You can also walk with any other Ramblers Group across the UK.
Annual subscriptions go toward maintaining paths and allow the RA to campaign for improved access to the countryside. You will also receive the monthly 'Walk' magazine and a 15% discount at Cotswold Outdoors.
