Kickoff Meeting/Tasting of Lancaster Healthy Cooks Club!

Details
Men, women, tie those aprons. Are you ready for a great start to healthy cooking (and eating) in 2014? Of course you are! And, attending the kickoff meeting of the Lancaster Healthy Cooks' Club will get you in the right (and delicious) frame of mind.
For our first meeting, please bring one dish of healthy food to share. Try out something new, or an old favorite -- as long as it's healthy. Bring the recipe with you and/or be prepared to help others learn how to make your masterpiece.
Part of the reason we're having our meetings on a Monday is to allow time to cook on Sunday. Pretty smart, huh? For future meetings, depending on how large the group gets, we may rotate the food prep from month to month.
At this meeting:
• We'll share our creations
• Discuss what "eating healthy" means to each of us and what we'd like to get out of our Club
• Hear from a local food artisan on how they got started
• Learn what to cook with their tasty wares that we'll sample
• Set the plan for our February meeting
In this venue (which we may change for future meetings), there is a modest-sized refrigerator, small sinks, and a small microwave. Please take these limitations into consideration when planning your menu item.
If you know of any healthy food-related events in January, February or March, please bring info with you for fellow members. Same goes for Lancaster-area healthy markets, restaurants, producers, organizations...eventually we want to meet and hear from them all at the LHCC (Lancaster Healthy Cooks' Club).
Questions, please contact us!
Please note: Children are welcome as long as they are carefully supervised and have activities with them that will result in a quiet and contained presence. There are too many breakables in this space for anyone to be running loose. Teens who want to learn to cook are especially welcome, with an adult family member present.
