ASKING HELP FOR SECOND HAND JACKET, WINTER CLOTHES OR COAT FOR MIGRANT FISHERMEN or BLANKET.
HI GUYS… we will visit migrant fishermen in wanli, Guihou or Yehliu harbor (new Taipei City).
Sunday, 28 December at 2 pm we will wait for you at guihou harbor. You can go together from taipei with other friends. If you go, you can bring your donation along with you.
If you cannot go, it’s okay you can pm and give the donation monday to friday at Xingtian temple mrt station exit 2 (orange line) from 5 pm to 8 pm.
I give you a little bit fact background of migrant fishermen here (why do I have to help them)
1. Indonesian migrant fishermen get salary USD 550/ per month and they cannot get it every month because sometimes they have to work to the ocean 1 - 3 months. Or at least 1 week on the ocean.
2. They have to pay for the broker and Indonesian recruiter company to pay their debt. Because to work in taiwan they have to pay around (61.000 NTD) and the broker will cut the salary until 7-8 months to pay their debt. We called this as replacement fee.
3. The rest salary that they have it should be sent to Indonesia for their family and mostly they told me that they only have NTD 700-1500 every month to survive.
4. The jacket or coat is only for new fishermen who just work in taiwan and they have still to pay the debt so they don’t have money to buy coat or winter clothes.
5. They live on the boat everyday at and they need warm jacket or coat.
