Still learning American culture and communication? Do you prefer quieter social events in a warm, friendly atmosphere? In my home, I host game nights and holiday parties where you can make friends with Americans and people from around the world. Join and you will receive invitations to parties where you can strengthen your American conversational skills, enjoy some home cooking, and feel like you belong.
More are invited than just this Meetup, so more are coming than you can see here.
When you sign up, I'll contact you to give you my home address.
Come meet new people and have a home-cooked meal. We'll enjoy:
1. Good conversation.
2. Nice people.
3. Food and drink that everyone will bring (ask me what we need).
4. Your hostess's hilarious sense of humor.
5. And one indifferent DOG, who's too old to pay you much attention.
NOTE: Parking is bad around here.
My apartment is at the top of six flights of stairs.
All around the world, people observe Earth Hour (https://www.earthhour.org) in support of preserving resources and taking care of the Earth.
I just like turning out lights and sitting in the dark. We'll eat and chat, and between 8:30 & 9:30 p.m. we'll turn out the lights for Earth Hour (a candle will be lit). We'll keep chatting until it's time to turn the lights back on. A medium-sized DOG will be here.
• What to bring:
Salads, dips, cheese & crackers, chips & guacamole, KFC, cake, pie, cookies, brownies, sparkling water, soda, juice, wine, beer, hard liquor, homemade bread, whatever you want.
