Come celebrate Philippine Independence Day in Carson! This is a FREE event brought to you by the Philippine Independence Day Foundation, Inc. and the City of Carson. Carson is home to the largest concentration of Filipinos outside of the Philippines and has been holding this event since 1986! Expect Filipino food vendors, cultural booths and exhibits, live entertainment, and more!

The actual celebration goes from 7:30am to 6pm, but our plan will be to meet in the afternoon at 2pm when it's potentially cooler and the live entertainment is in full swing. But feel free to come as early as you'd like!

Quick history lesson (for anyone interested 🤓): The Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain was presented on June 12, 1898. Unfortunately, it was not recognized by either Spain or the United States, and the Philippines was ceded to the United States following the Spanish-American War. The United States granted the Philippines independence following the end of World War II on July 4, 1946, but Filipinos recognize June 12 as their rightful day of independence.
