Laravel Cologne Meetup #1

Details
[If you're interested in presenting something related to Laravel (or PHP) at this meetup (or even the next one), write to me at oliver@adria.io]
The first Laravel Cologne Meetup will be at SensioLabs, the makers of Symfony2! This makes it especially great, because Laravel uses several Symfony2 components, such as “symfony/routing” or “symfony/http-foundation”.
Interested in Live Coding? Make sure to have these things on your computer:
• PHP >= 5.5.9
• OpenSSL PHP Extension
• PDO PHP Extension
• Mbstring PHP Extension
• Tokenizer PHP Extension
(http://laravel.com/docs/5.1/installation)
… or alternatively the Vagrant-based Laravel Homestead virtual machine (http://laravel.com/docs/5.1/homestead, do this at home, since it’s nearly a gigabyte big! But you only need one for all your future Laravel apps).
Timeline
18:30: Doors open and Get-to-Know
19:00: Laravel from Scratch + Ecosystem
We will go through building a simple web app using the new Laravel 5.1 (long-term support version). We will get to check out the architecture of a Laravel app and go through Routing, MVC, Template Engine and use some basic functionality. I will also show a small insight into the growing Laravel ecosystem.
Speaker: Oliver is a freelance web developer who enjoys developing in Laravel https://www.oliveradria.de
20:00: Socializing
