Build K.I.T.T. with JavaScript & Move the Wild into the Cloud(s) in Neuchâtel

Details
Get ready for an unforgettable Laravel meetup at HUB space in Neuchâtel ! First talk starts at 19:00 (doors open at 18:30).
Join us for an amazing evening of learning, dedicated to programming an onboard AI in JavaScript for an '80s car and a hands-on demonstration of how to deploy an application on Laravel Cloud, from the wild!
1️⃣ From the Wild into the Cloud(s) with Silvan Hagen
Silvan will share his hands-on experience migrating his project, Wire in the Wild, to Laravel Cloud. He will walk us through the challenges and lessons learned while adapting a Livewire powered application to Laravel’s fully managed cloud infrastructure. From deployment strategies to optimizing performance, migrating from MySQL to Postgres DB and from disk to S3 like Object Storage, he’ll reveal key insights that can help developers smoothly transition their own projects to the cloud.
Silvan is a Zurich-based programmer specializing in high-performance web applications and user-friendly digital experiences. An active member of the tech community, he shares insights at meetups, contributes to open-source projects, and is known for his ability to prepare a compelling talk in less than a day to step in for an ill speaker ;-). His project Wire in the Wild explores the practical use of Laravel Livewire in real-world applications, showcasing how this tool enhance interactivity and efficiency in modern web development.
2️⃣ Let’s build K.I.T.T. with JavaScript with Nico Martin
In the 1982 TV series "Knight Rider", the idea of a talking, intelligent car was pure science fiction. Now, more than 40 years later, we have all the tools needed to bring this vision to life - right in the browser, using JavaScript.
In this talk, Nico will combine AI techniques like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and function calling with advanced browser APIs like WebBluetooth to create an AI agent with personality, memory, and autonomous decision-making abilities.
Leveraging WebAssembly, WebGPU, and other cutting-edge browser technologies, this entire experience happens directly in the browser, running fully offline and privacy preserving by default!
Nico is a Swiss programmer passionate about modern web development, JavaScript, and AI-driven applications. With years of experience in front-end and back-end technologies, he specializes in building innovative and interactive web solutions. Nico is also an advocate for open-source contributions and regularly shares his knowledge at tech meetups and conferences. Whether experimenting with AI-powered projects or optimizing applications for performance, he loves pushing the boundaries of web technology.
