Impact Mapping Practice Session TC LeSS February Meetup
Details
Welcome!
For our February meetup, we're going to continue our format of hands-on practice, this month focusing on a technique called Impact Mapping. Impact mapping is for product managers, business sponsors and senior technical leadership working with iterative software delivery, who want to focus effort, restructure existing initiatives or communicate a vision for a new idea.
What are we going to do?
We're going to spend this time practicing Impact mapping by providing some basics about the workshop format, selecting a few sample outcomes to evaluate with impact mapping and trying the technique together in breakout rooms using Miro.
What is 'Impact Mapping?' Impact Mapping comes from a book by the same name published in 2012 by Gojko Adzik. It is a simple yet effective method for collaborative strategic planning that helps organizations make an impact with software
How is this related to LeSS?
Whole Product Focus is one of the Principles of Large Scale Scrum which reminds teams that Whenever there is a choice to optimize a team output or the whole product, we always chose the whole product. Impact mapping is an ideal tool to help product / engineering teams establish and retain the context needed for Whole Product Focus as they work together on refining the product backlog.
