Off-Leash Play at Sewickley Heights Borough Park

Details
Mark your calendars for a morning of off-leash play and (optional) hiking!
We will meet in the upper parking lot of Sewickley Heights Borough Park, walk a short distance to the meadow for off-leash dog play and socializing. If you and your dogs want some exercise, group members can hike about 3 miles on the trails of the park. The trails are not paved, and the hiking difficulty is easy to medium, with a couple possible difficult spots. If you're not into hiking, you can stay in the meadow area and enjoy more off-leash time.
Please note: This park is not fenced. Your dog must be under voice control at all times, or you must leash your dog. New leash laws in the park require you to keep your dogs leashed in the parking lot and within 100 feet of the parking area. Additionally, you must carry a leash with you at all times within the park, even when your dog is on the off-leash area trails. Hefty fines will result from not heeding these laws.
Wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes you don't mind getting muddy -- no sandals, please, if you'll be hiking. There is a creek along the trail at one point, and dogs are welcome to romp in the water. You will occasionally see horses on the trail but they don't seem to mind the dogs and don't bother anyone.
The park provides water for the dogs, and you can also hose them off if they get muddy (which they will if you visit the creek!).
What to bring:
No more than 3 dogs per handler
Leash (Even if your dog is under voice control, dogs must be leashed in parking area)
Clean-up bags for your dog's poop -- bags are not provided in the large off-leash area of the park, so make sure to bring something to put their waste in
Towels for drying your dog
