Στο 4ο Meetup εστιάζουμε σε δύο σημαντικά εργαλεία του Software Development και του Dev Operations και έχουμε την χαρά να μας τα παρουσιάζουν δύο εξαιρετικοί IT Professionals.

O Χάρης Καλογήρου (Vleepo.com (https://vleepo.com/)) από την Λάρισα, με πολυετή εμπειρία στο Software Development, θα μας βοηθήσει να εμβαθύνουμε στις δομές του Git και να καταλάβουμε τον τρόπο που λειτουργεί εκ των έσω.

Ο Πάρης Κασιδιάρης (Sourcelair.com (https://www.sourcelair.com/home)) από την Αθήνα, με μεγάλη εμπειρία στην κατασκευή εργαλείων και εφαρμογών που απευθύνονται (και) σε developers, θα μας παρουσιάσει το Docker, μια εξαιρετική τεχνολογία που ήρθε για να αλλάξει τον τρόπο που πακετάρουμε και εγκαθιστούμε εφαρμογές.

In this 4th Meetup we're focusing on two great tools of modern Software Development and Dev Operations. We're lucky to have with us two brilliant engineers with established careers and notable successes in the Startup community.

Harry Kalogirou (Vleepo.com (https://vleepo.com/)) is from Larisa and having a huge experience in Software Development, he will help us dive into Git and get a deeper understanding of how it works.

Paris Kasidiaris (Sourcelair.com) (https://www.sourcelair.com/home)comes from Athens and he has big experience in building modern tools and apps that focus on developers. Paris will introduce us to Docker, an amazing technology that has already changed the way we pack and deploy our applications.

Abstract

This is not your usual Git talk. We are going to dig into how this tool came to be. What makes it so awesome and confusing at the same time, and what can we learn from it that is more than version control. As a result we will learn to be better at Git from the inside out, but also what makes better software engineers.

Harry is a software engineer and entrepreneur. He has worked on more startups that he can remember, building software ranging from operating systems and video games to web applications. He is a big promoter of free software, having contributed on multiple open source project including the Linux kernel, and published some of his own with the most notable being his 3D game engine Sylphis3D.
