North Hollywood/Valley Village Park: Pack Walk *Halloween!! different route*

3rd Annual Halloween Pack Walk! Time to get in spirit 🎃 since Halloween is on a Saturday this year, the crowds are apt to be extra crazy so we will stick to our Thursday night pack walk schedule. We will be doing a new route to check out all the Halloween decor (without the crazy crowds) Come in costume or festive wear to make it more fun.

**The sun will be setting during our walk so it is time to bring back the high-vis gear and lights! Please read entire description before you RSVP.

REQUIREMENTS:
➊ Complete and submit a Member Form and Release of Liability ************************before************************ you come to your first class or packwalk. (One submission required each year)
➋ While we do not require you bring these documents, make sure your dog is current on the following:

• Bordetella vaccinations/titer and rabies vaccination for dogs 4 months and older OR Bordetella vaccination for 4 months and younger; and
• Local animal care and control agency licensing requirements.

Also note that by signing our Release of Liability, you are confirming that you are up-to-date on these requirements.

RULES:
First rule of our pack walks is to BE SAFE so that everyone has fun! All participants must comply to ALL guidelines below or will be asked to leave the event.

1. Participants limited to 20 people. RSVP is required to hold a spot. As soon as you know you cannot attend, cancel your reservation. We understand last-minute changes take place; however, if you don't show up more than two times you will be placed on the wait list for future events.
2. If you feel even slightly ill (including a headache, sniffles, minor fever or even an allergy), do not attend this event. Stay home for your health and safety of others. Remember to cancel your reservation.
3. Maintain a 6 foot distance from other participants not in your household.
4. Face mask/shield is optional. Please maintain a 6' distance from anyone choosing to wear a mask.

MEETING LOCATION: We’re meeting at Valley Village park to the left/north of the playground. Westpark Dr and Hesby St.

PARKING: Street parking. Parking on Westpark Drive
north of Hesby St is best because it’s furthest away from where people let their dogs off leash.

WHAT TO BRING: Costumes and festive gear! Water for you and your dog. We will do some mental exercises and there will be lots of distractions and stimuli, so bring Iots of high value treats for your pup, too. Lights and high vis gear to be seen in the dark as the sun sets earlier.

PACK WALK DISTANCE: About 2.5 - 3 miles round trip.

TRAIL: Mix of paved, dirt path and grass.

DIFFICULTY: Easy

DISTRACTION LEVEL: There's the usual- other park visitors, other dogs, birds, squirrels, an “unofficial off-leash” dog section, etc. We will even go by the school farm to see chickens, ducks, sheep and pigs from behind a fence.

LARPBO PACK WALK GUIDELINES:
#1 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars, slip leads and head halters should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes and harnesses are not allowed as they provide little control.
#2 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). Always maintain a six-foot distance between dogs. There should be no dog-on-dog interaction.
#3 Please bring doggie poo bags.
#4 Make sure you bring water for you and your dog.
#5 One dog per handler. No exceptions!
#6 Share the road. Move to the right to let others pass.

• All breeds welcome.
• There will be foot traffic, bikes, and several others dogs. If your dog tends to be reactive to any of these distractions, please be EXTRA mindful and prepared.

Sherman Oaks: INTRO Group Training Classes on 10/31 @ 8:15am and 11/7 @ 9:30am

THIS IS A 2-DAY INTRO CLASS: 2 CONSECUTIVE SATURDAYS specifically on 10/31 @ 8:15am and 11/7 @ 9:30am. If you cannot attend both of these days and times, do NOT register for this class. There is no refund or rescheduling of a missed class or cancellation. Participants must pay $50 when registering for the first class and will be auto-enrolled for the 2nd week.

Class is limited to 14 handler/dog teams. Absolutely NO walk-ins allowed. RSVP and PRE-PAYMENT is required to hold spots.
**No refunds (or re-scheduling) will be made for missed classes or cancellation; register only if you will attend.**

This is a group-oriented class that focuses on the basic fundamentals of obedience: sit, down come, stay and place. These skills are needed for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, which we offer throughout the year.

➡ High value treats for your dog (e.g., small pieces of hot dog, boiled chicken breast). Consider not giving your pup breakfast since your dog will be rewarded with treats during this 1-hour class.

Sherman Oaks: Spooky FUN AGILITY Group Training Class

This class is open to all participants. We will begin with 15 minutes of dog management and 45 minutes of agility fun!

Rain or shine, class will take place. Dress appropriately if rain is expected. However, if a major storm is forecasted or training area is deemed unsafe, we will cancel the class (and reschedule it for the next Saturday). Check Meetup schedule 6pm the night before the class. The Meetup schedule will always be accurate.

• Class is limited to 30 handler/dog teams. Absolutely NO walk-ins allowed. RSVP and PRE-PAYMENT is required to hold a spot.

Sherman Oaks: HALLOWEEN Photo Op

Come join us at the park this Saturday for a holiday photo op! Dress your dog up or wear one of the costumes we’ll bring (sizes may be limited). Anyone is welcome, whether you're a new or longtime member or this is your first time hearing about LARPBO. Join the fun and community at the park and get some cute photos of your dog for the holiday.

MEETING LOCATION**:**
We will be set up near the Sherman Oaks class area at the Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks park near the corner of Huston and Tyrone
PARKING**: Free parking on the surrounding streets and in the parking lot at the park.**
WATER AND TREATS**: It has been hot so bring water for you and your dog. Bring treats for your pup to get their attention for the photo and reward them after, too!**
DISTRACTION LEVEL**: Medium (Halloween decor, humans and dogs in costume, other park visitors, other dogs, kids, soccer balls, birds)**
