Sherman Oaks: AKC Canine Good Citizen Workshop

This is a workshop that focuses on the skills needed for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, which we offer throughout the year. We will cover each of the test items of the AKC CGC. You can see a list of the test items here. This class is open to all levels and best suited for those that have a solid training foundation with their dogs.
Rain or shine, the workshop will take place. Dress appropriately if rain is expected. However, if a major storm is forecasted or training area is deemed unsafe, we will cancel the workshop. Check Meetup schedule 6pm the night before the class. The Meetup schedule will always be accurate.
Workshop is limited to 15 handler/dog teams. Absolutely NO walk-ins allowed. RSVP and PRE-PAYMENT is required to hold a spot.
**No refunds (or re-scheduling) will be made for missed classes or cancellation; register only if you will attend.**
REQUIREMENTS:
➊ Complete and submit a Member Form and Release of Liability **before** you attend your first class of the year.
➋ While we do not require you bring these documents to class, make sure your dog is current on the following:
- Bordetella vaccinations/titer and rabies vaccination for dogs 4 months and older OR Bordatella vaccination for 4 months and younger; and
- Local animal care and control agency licensing requirements.
Also note that by signing our Release of Liability, you are confirming that you are up-to-date on these requirements.
RULES:
#1 One dog per handler. No exceptions.
#2 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes and harnesses are not allowed as they provide little control.
#3 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). Always maintain a six-foot distance.
WHAT TO BRING:
➡ Water for you and your dog.
➡ High value treats for your dog. Consider not giving your pup breakfast to keep your dog motivated during this workshop. *You will not be able to use treats during the actual AKC CGC Test administered by a LARPBO Trainer/CGC Evaluator
➡ Doggie poo bags. Always clean up after your pet.
