Create a journal that's as unique as the stories you'll fill it with.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll craft your own 6.5" × 9" refillable traveler's journal cover from leather and a coordinating paper notebook insert. Along the way, you'll learn the basics of working with leather, including edge finishing, hole punching, stamping, and installing the elastic closure and notebook system.
Before assembling your journal, you'll personalize the cover, selecting from a variety of decorative leather stamps and punches to create a design that's uniquely yours. Whether you prefer a simple, modern look or something more detailed, you'll leave with a durable journal that's ready for sketching, journaling, planning, or everyday notes.
Made from vegetable-tanned leather, your journal will develop a rich patina over time, becoming softer and more character-filled with every adventure. The finished journal cover is designed to fit both the handstitched notebook you'll create in class and standard A5 notebook inserts, making it easy to refill and enjoy for years to come.
No experience is necessary, and all materials and tools are provided.
NOTE: Besides RSVPing here on Meetup, you'll also need to register/pay on the Assembly website to reserve your spot.
