Discover the beauty of sashiko, a traditional Japanese embroidery technique used for stitching, patching, and mending textiles with both purpose and style. Rooted in resourcefulness, sashiko is a wonderful way to extend the life of fabrics and embrace more sustainable, mindful making.

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to piece together scrap fabrics and reinforce them with simple, rhythmic stitching—a process that’s as calming as it is creative.

Using a curated selection of fabrics, you’ll create a unique patchwork boro fabric piece while learning foundational sashiko embroidery techniques you can continue using at home. Feel free to bring your own small cotton fabric scraps to incorporate into your design for a more personal touch.

All supplies are included, and your finished piece can be used as a drink coaster or a small table accent.

NOTE: Besides RSVPing here on Meetup, you'll also need to register/pay on the Assembly website to reserve your spot.
