What we’re about
A monthly gathering for readers passionate about American history, politics, and the people who shaped our nation.
Welcome to the Las Vegas American History Book Club! Whether you're a dedicated history buff or just beginning to explore the complex tapestry of America’s past, this group is for anyone who enjoys deep dives into the triumphs, controversies, and personalities that have defined the United States.
Each month, we’ll select a compelling nonfiction book focused on American history—primarily centered around U.S. Presidents and the political eras they shaped, from the Founding Fathers to modern administrations. We’ll cover a wide range of time periods and themes, including:
The Revolutionary War & Constitution
Civil War & Reconstruction
The Gilded Age & Progressive Era
20th-century conflicts & reforms
Modern presidencies & current events
Expect lively, respectful discussions, thoughtful questions, and the occasional spirited debate. No academic background required—just a genuine interest in learning and talking history over good company.
We'll meet once a month at a local Las Vegas venue (library, coffee shop, brewery, or wherever fits the mood) and you’ll always have at least 3-4 weeks to finish the book.
Whether you’ve read Chernow’s Washington, Meacham’s Jefferson, McCullough’s Truman, or are just getting started, come join us as we rediscover the people and moments that shaped America.
