LVVBC Death Valley Ride- Furnace Creek
Details
This is the annual club ride in Death Valley. The ride starts from the Death Valley park visitor center, proceeds north to Stovepipe Wells, and then returns. It has 49 miles and 1263 feet vertical. If you want to do a shorter ride, such as to Badwater or Artists Palette, you're welcome to do so, but there are more rollers to the south of Furnace Creek than to the north.

If you choose to ride from Furnace Creek to Dante's View, it is 50 miles round trip with 5700 feet of climbing. See the route here:

If the visitor center parking lot is crowded, look for us in the overflow parking lot across the highway and a few hundred yards north.
As you're planning your drive in order to arrive and be ready to ride by 10 AM, note that it's at least a two hour drive from the 215 to the Visitor Center in Furnace Creek.
If you have one, bring your National Parks Pass to save on parking fees while in the park. The parking kiosks don't take the passes, but the rangers in the visitor center will give you a parking pass.
Bring plenty of water on your bike, sunscreen, and on-bike snacks. Be prepared for early summer type heat. Plan on stopping at the Sea Level elevation signs to commemorate your ride.
You may want to bring food for a picnic after the ride.
IMPORTANT: By your RSVP on Meetup OR YOUR PARTICIPATION you are affirming that you agree not to bring any type of claim against the Officers, sponsors or volunteers associated with this event. Therefore, when coming to a club ride, your RSVP on Meetup will act as a waiver agreement and eliminate the need for signing in at the ride start.
