Hike to Muffin Top Ridge

What to Expect:
Muffin Top Ridge is located in the Cowboy Trails area of Red Rock Canyon. This is a moderate 4 mile hike with a total elevation gain of 883ft. Part of the Muffin Ridge via Boneshaker and Bomb Voyage trail, we will complete about ½ of the trail as outlined in AllTrails.

This hike features beautiful views of Red Rock Canyon and the LV valley. We will pause at the top of the ridge to take in the views.
Some sections of the ascent are a bit steep with loose soil or rock. You may need to use your hands on larger rocks for balance. Proper footwear is a must for this trail and hiking poles recommended for added stability on the initial descent.

Due to limited parking, we will carpool for this event. We will meet at the Red Rock Casino parking lot on the northwest corner near Charleston and 215. Please consider if you are willing to be a driver for this event.

Event time relates to the carpool meet up location. We will leave the parking lot and make our way to the trailhead parking lot at 9:30. Waivers will be required for this hike.

What to Bring:

• At least 2L of water
• Sunscreen/hat
• Proper footgear
• Hiking poles if desired for rocky terrain and climb
• Trail snack

EVENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

By RSVP’ing to this event and signing this waiver and release of liability, I acknowledge that I voluntarily choose to participate in the above-named event (the “Las Vegas Active Adults 40+ MeetUp Group). I understand that participation may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to physical activity, equipment use, travel, weather conditions, and other unforeseen hazards.

1. Assumption of Risk:
I am voluntarily participating in the Event and assume all risks associated with my participation, including but not limited to injury, illness, property damage, or death.

2. Release of Liability:
I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Las Vegas Active Adults 40+ Meetup Group, its directors, organizers, co-hosts, officers, employees, agents, sponsors, partners, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained while participating in or traveling to/from the Event.

3. Medical Treatment:
I authorize the Organizer to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if needed. I understand that I am responsible for all medical costs incurred.

4. Media Release:
I grant the Organizer the right to take and use photographs, video, and audio recordings of me for promotional, educational, or informational purposes in any medium, without compensation.

5. Compliance with Rules:
I agree to comply with all Event rules, regulations, and instructions from event staff. I understand that failure to follow rules may result in removal from the Event without refund.

6. Indemnification:
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer and all released parties from any claims brought against them as a result of my actions or omissions during the Event.

7. COVID-19 and Communicable Diseases:
I acknowledge the risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illnesses and voluntarily assume such risk. I agree to follow all health and safety protocols in place for the Event.
