Valley Relics Museum Ride (Any cc+)
Details
How many of you live in the beautiful San Fernando Valley?
Okay, no jokes… Yes, it's the suburb without a city. Yes, it's the adult entertainment capital of the world. Yes, they wrote an unflattering song about its girls. Yes, it gets so hot that chickens lay hard-boiled eggs (Okay, maybe just one joke). But for approximately 1.82 million people, it’s home.
A home with parks, lakes, mountain twisties, and shopping, delicious dining, bike paths, and great history. So much so, it has its own museum. It’s called the Valley Relics Museum (https://valleyrelicsmuseum.org/), and it's located at another of the Valley’s most prominent attractions, Van Nuys Airport. The museum’s curators have amassed an amazing collection of the Valley’s curios, photographs, and signage. For some people, it’ll be a stroll down memory lane, for others, a chance to learn more about where they come from and those who came before.
We will start our historic adventure at one of our usual Gelson’s meetup spots in Studio City. After a short ride through Hollywood Hills, Balboa Park, and "The Valley," we will get to our destination, where we will spend an hour to 90 minutes, or so, perusing the displays and soaking up the aura of years gone by.
There is a $15 entrance fee for the museum. So please plan accordingly.
This ride is going to be a fairly simple and easy-paced route and is suitable for all riders and bikes.
