Yosemite backpacking, Ostrander to Happy Isles

Weekend camping in Yosemite.

Starting at Ostrander and visiting Buena Vista Lake, Little Yosemite Valley, then finishing at Happy Isles.

Plan on meeting at Happy Isles on the morning of the 29th and carpooling to the trailhead leaving a vehicle at Happy Isles to pick up later. Alternatively we can take the tour bus to Glacier Point but that will add time and cost. The bus is $28.50 one way, leaving from Yosemite Valley Lodge.

First night's camp spot will vary depending on when we get started but will likely be along the Chilnuala Creek or near the Chilnuala Lakes. Second night will be at Buena Vista Lake and the third night near Little Yosemite Valley. If desired we could camp in LYV but it can be crowded.

Half Dome permits are not available for this trail, so no Half Dome unless you score a separate day permit.
