Santa Barbara County Highpoint (bike + hike, 40 miles/6k' gain, date open)
Details
The highest point in Santa Barbara County (Big Pine Mtn) is only 6500', but it's a beast to get to: a round trip of about 40 miles & 6,000' of gain. However, it's almost all fire road and most people bike as much of it as possible and hike the rest. We'll do this in one long day.
See past trip reports here: http://cohp.org/ca/california.xml#Santa%20Barbara
It looks like he biked the whole thing:

The good news is there don't appear to be many steep ascents; I assume it's like the San Luis Obispo highpoint which I biked/hiked:

The date is open because we need to do this between when the rains stop and the weather gets too hot for most people. The bonus is that might coincide with a wildflower bloom in the very attractive Carrizo Plain that's nearby.
We'll do this at a moderate pace and we might finish at night. We'll all stick together, no tigers. And, I'm ruling out eBikes since I want all of us to earn this. However, I had a lower gear range installed on my (clunky, 20+ year old) mountain bike so you might want to consider that. Barely moving is better than pushing.
Everyone gets added to the waitlist, and to get off it you have to leave a comment or send me a DM. I'll post more details as we get closer to Spring.
