Altitude: 3900' - 5813'
Terrain Description: Some trail, mostly relatively easy off-trail, class 1-2
Approximate Hiking Time: 6.5-7.5 hours
This is a day hike in Joshua Tree National Park. This trip is meant to coordinate with the group LVMC camping trip to Joshua Tree, but is open to all.
Quail Mountain is the highest point in Joshua Tree NP, and is a fairly long, but not too difficult hike. It should have fantastic views of the area!
We may tack on a "bonus" peak, the nearby Mt Minerva Hoyt. The first part of the hike is on a dirt road, then in a wash, before climbing a ridge that leads to the summit. Start time may be modified due to temperature.
