This peakbagging extravaganza itinerary is subject to change. If the higher peaks planned for our long Saturday hike get heavy snow before our trip, the itinerary will be changed. If you want to sit out a few peaks, or just join for part of the trip, that is definitely a possibility. If all goes well we will summit 13 peaks, 10 of which are on the Zion Desert Peak List! Here is the tentative itinerary:

Friday afternoon: Leave LV and drive to Centennial Flat (3.5 hour drive), our trailhead for Saturday. We will car camp there.

Saturday: We will get an early start (first light or just before), and hike Apex Pk, Bpex Pk, CPex Pk, Fairview Pk, Joshua Mtn, and Silver Pk. As this will be an all-day hike, we will camp in the same place Sat night.

Sunday: We will make the drive down to Fremont Pk, and do that short scenic hike, before stopping at Indian Wells Brewery for burgers and brews! Then we will drive to the trailhead for Almond Mtn and car camp there.

Monday: Hike Almond Mtn, Middle Almond, and Big Almond, possibly making a loop out of it. Then we will drive down to the trailhead for Black Mtn/Opal Mtn, the saddle between the two peaks, and car camp there.

Tuesday: Hike Black Mtn, then a short hike up Opal Mtn, before driving to the trailhead for West Ord Mtn, where we will car camp.

Wednesday: Hike West Ord Mtn, before heading home.

All camping will be primitive car camping. Bring all you need. We will eat in camp most nights, but we will stop for food Sunday afternoon and likely Tuesday night.

Most of the trailheads are accessible by high clearance vehicles, although there are probably a few rough 4WD sections. I will drive my Jeep Cherokee, which should be OK for most, but if it gets too bad, we will jump in Jodie's Wrangler. :)

It should be a blast! Come join the fun!
