LVMC Presents: Above 20,000 Feet: Mountaineering in Ecuador
Details
Join Parker for his presentation about his trip to Ecuador to climb some peaks in the "Avenue of the Volcanoes". The region provides a bevy of big mountains for mountaineers looking to reach altitudes far beyond anything found in the continental U.S. The highest, Chimborazo stands at 20,548 feet and is the closest point on earth to the Sun.
Parker will share his journey to the summits. He’ll break down the "how-to" of the trip, from selecting the peaks for acclimatization to the technical gear and logistics needed for a successful trip.
If you’re looking to plan your own South American adventure or just want to enjoy some fun mountain photography, don't miss this talk!
LVMC presentations are held in the community meeting room at REI in Boca Park at 7 pm. LVMC meetings are the 4th Wednesday of the month.
The club will provide snacks and water.
See you there!
