This is a trip to summit Flat Top Benchmark (also known as Flat Top Mountain South on Google Maps), a peak with about 1,200 feet of prominence in the mountains south of Enterprise in Utah. Given the heat expected, the elevation of this peak should help keep things relatively cool. Also, most of the hike will be on a drivable dirt road, allowing us to shorten the hike if needed.

I have not hiked this peak before, so this trip is exploratory.

Total Distance: Maybe 5 miles round trip
Total Elevation Gain: about 1,400'
Altitude: 6,000 - 7,317
Terrain Description: class 1 expected (mostly along a road)
Approximate Hiking Time: 2 hours
