Rope Practice: haul system
Details
Join me to practice on a crevasse rescue haul system. This trip will be a refresher on 3:1 Z-pulley and the drop C system. This is mainly for crevasse rescue. It can also be used for climbing rescue depending on the situation. We will focus more on the haul system. This does not include anchor building and ascending a rope. This is more designed for those with previous winter mountaineering and or climbing skills.
What you should bring:
helmet, PAS, harness, 2 prusik cord, 2 pulleys, 4 locking carabiners, rope
optional gear: mechanical ascenders
Petzl Tibloc, Petzl mocrotraxion or the like.
water snacks, sunscreen
Some of the gears can be rented through the club.
Contact Eric Kassan for gear needs
This refresher activity will be done in a more controlled environment with existing bolted anchor.
