What we’re about
The LGA was founded by Azucena Maldonado in 2008 to introduce latina girls and women to the game of golf for their professional development and personal enjoyment. Susana Kriegar of Mutual of Omaha and Evelya Z Rivera of Iuvo Inc want to help Azucena carry on the torch by starting a local chapter in her honor. The goal is to eliminate the stigma that golf is a gender-specific, "expensive", and dare we say a 'boring' sport. Our mission is to engage, encourage and educate Latinas in the sport of golf, to eliminate barriers and fears of the golf community and to empower Latinas to understand and appreciate the golf culture.
