If you had a surprise day off work tomorrow, what would you WANT do? Would you want to kayak on Mt. Island Lake? Hike up Mt. Mitchell? SUP and chill? Marvel at the sensory explosion that is a Full Moon hike? Latta Outdoor Adventures is the group where people just like you come to find out what Outdoor Adventures are being offered RIGHT NOW at Latta Nature Preserve! We will keep you posted on all the programs for age 12 to Adult. Some are FREE meet-ups. Some cost a few bucks. Don’t have your own gear? No problem. That’s why we are here. Book a tour with us and let the Outdoor Recreation Specialists at Latta do the heavy lifting, literally. Stride along the trails of Latta Nature Preserve and observe its quiet magic throughout the seasons. A skilled naturalist volunteer will accompany you to spark your curiosity in nature and answer questions about the neat plants and animals you’ll see.
This is a moderate, brisk hike. Be prepared to cover up to 4 miles in two hours. Hike will start no later than 9:05am at a new location each time.

How to Relax in Nature
For many of us, relaxing is easier said than done! How do you calm your mind and body to de-stress in nature? We’ll share some tips and tools to slow down, relax, and enjoy the outdoors restfully. Get cozy with a hammock, picnic blanket, or chair, and follow along on a peaceful activity to help you observe and reconnect to nature.This program is appropriate and accessible for people of any physical ability or outdoor skill level. Bring a friend to enjoy the fall air along the trail or pack a picnic to make a day of it!
