If you had a surprise day off work tomorrow, what would you WANT do? Would you want to kayak on Mt. Island Lake? Hike up Mt. Mitchell? SUP and chill? Marvel at the sensory explosion that is a Full Moon hike? Latta Outdoor Adventures is the group where people just like you come to find out what Outdoor Adventures are being offered RIGHT NOW at Latta Nature Preserve! We will keep you posted on all the programs for age 12 to Adult. Some are FREE meet-ups. Some cost a few bucks. Don’t have your own gear? No problem. That’s why we are here. Book a tour with us and let the Outdoor Recreation Specialists at Latta do the heavy lifting, literally. It takes a trained eye to find the quiet magic of Latta Nature Preserve as we head into the awakening months of spring. Fortunately, our volunteers are skilled at finding and teaching on the wonders that make their appearance in the spring. This is a moderate, brisk hike. Be prepared to cover up to 4 miles in two hours. Hike will start no later than 9:05am at a new location each time.

***Sign Up Here***Spend the day exploring Lake James and the foothills of the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area. This guided outing will include 4-5 miles of lakeside hiking at Lake James State Park. Make sure to pack a lunch – we’ll cap the afternoon off with a post-hike picnic.
Sit back and relax, transportation to the park is provided. Meet at the Quest Nature Center.

Not open - Weekend Getaway: Stone MountainQuest at Latta Nature Preserve, Huntersville, NC
Spend the day adventuring as we head to the mountains! Stone Mountain State Park in Roaring Gap, NC is home to a National Natural Landmark, the massive granite monadnock of Stone Mountain. This loop hike on the Stone Mountain trail is 5 miles round trip with approximately 1000 feet of elevation gain. This trail is considered a strenuous trail. Bring a lunch to enjoy on the trail.
Sit back and relax, transportation to the park is provided. Meet at the Quest Nature Center.
