What we’re about

Here's what we're all about - PLEASE READ!
We are Wine Enthusiasts who believe in "Laughing Out Loud" in all we do! If you enjoy the finer things in life . . . like fine wines, great restaurants, really fun people, and can do it all with a positive attitude - this just may be the group for you. Some of the events we enjoy are wine tasting, happy hour events, dancing, outdoor activities and socializing with others.

Since most of the members live on the North side of the Columbia River (Clark County, WA)- we like keeping our hard earned disposable income here supporting local businesses. Every Week: We gather for a Happy Hour at a local restaurants in the Vancouver area (attendance at these events can range from 5 to 20 or more). Some of the establishments are: Grays at the Hilton, Tommy O's , Roots, Beaches, The Grant House, Farrar's, and so many more . . .

We try to select a "Restaurant of the Month". This is a fun event, as it's usually a smaller group of people (20) and we can chat and get to know each other better.

There are many more events . . . We average about 100 event a year.

The group started in February 2009 as a Social Group. We are not a singles group. The majority age demographic of our group is 40-65, however all ages are welcome. If you know someone who is already a member, please be sure to tell us who they are and if they are referring you.

Prerequisite: Must have a Positive Outlook, Enjoy Fun and Laughter, and have a propensity to use your zygomatico auricularis (smile muscles) - then be Prepared, 'Cause we're all about Laughing Out Loud! One of the things about this group that never ceases to amaze me . . . how absolutely "friendly" everyone is.

One rule that I insist on is that everyone honor your RSVP. That means if you can't make it, cancel before the RSVP cutoff time, so that I can give the restaurant a good number and give anyone on a waiting list a chance to take your place. Your profile must also state, at the least, your real first name, and also show and Maintain, a Current recognizable photo of yourself, without sunglasses, so that we know who to look for.

Be advised, that when you rsvp onto the wait-list, that is essentially the same as a YES RSVP. You are responsible to remove yourself if you are unable to make it, because there is a very good chance that you will be bumped in, even last minute, and that would become a no-show if you didn't come. Double booking in other groups for same day/time events creates rsvp issues. Therefore, you must be sure to keep on top of your rsvp. Canceling same day as event does not give those on wait list a fair chance to be notified, and will be counted as a show.

Also, those who rsvp YES, just to hold a spot down then cancel at the last minute will be tracked; and removed if it becomes a pattern. This is very disrespectful to others who are more sincere about going to an event.

No-shows are bad for the group, the restaurant and Meetup's reputation in general. So group policy is 3 no shows or violating group policy, and you are out! I know things happen but if they happen often that is not acceptable. So please, be courteous! I don't want to remove people from the group!

Cheers!
:)

Note: All Restaurant events whether it's Happy Hour, Wine Tasting or Dinner - we try to leave a minimum of 18% gratuity. As part of this groups commitment . . . we always treat Wait Staff with great respect. If you believe there's a problem with an establishment, we do not let it get in our way of an enjoyable evening.

THIS IS A NO DRAMA GROUP! Please enjoy yourself and leave the drama at home. I also will not approve anyone who does not share their interests or other meetups because it leaves me nothing to base approval on. Your profile is subject to removal for non-activity in a year or more.
