The Annapolis Crab Derby (4th Annual) & Startup Pitches

Join us as we race live Chesapeake Bay blue crabs to raise money for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF).. and to celebrate entrepreneurship!

The CBF has done so much to preserve and restore our national treasure. It's now time for us to show our appreciation by racing some crabs :)

HOW THE CRAB RACES WORK
There will be several races leading up to the grand finale where this year's Crab Derby Champion will be crowned. Before the races begin everyone will have the opportunity to place a wager/donation on the crab you think will win the race. All wagers/donations will go directly to the CBF and their efforts to Save the Bay.

If you pick the winning crab, you will receive prizes from our sponsors such as gift certificates, t-shirts, artwork, custom crab mallets, etc... Plus you will have a phenomenal time watching the little guys scurrying for the finish line ;)

STARTUP PITCHES & SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS
We also hold this event to celebrate entrepreneurship. LAUNCH! Annapolis is all about putting the entrepreneur first. This year we will have innovative startup companies give quick pitches to the. We will also have several special presentations of innovative initiatives going on around Annapolis. We will hear from the City of Annapolis about an innovative Resiliency Planning Program to address flooding downtown. We will also hear from a new organization and their plans for a Makerspace in Annapolis!!

As always there will be plenty of time for networking with Launch! Annapolis’ friendly and action-oriented patrons.

This year we are stepping up our appetizer game with some amazing food.There will also be free beer, wine, water, soda, etc.

The event will be hosted at the CBF's headquarters in Annapolis in the incredible Philip Merrill Environmental Center with a beautiful view of the bay.
