Are you the parent of a young person who is experiencing difficulty “launching” into adulthood? Does your adult child seem to lack motivation, or just not know where to turn to gain the skills they need to become an independent adult? If so, you are not alone. Young people all over are facing obstacles, but Santa Cruz, with its shortage of affordable housing and limited job options for young people, presents its own unique challenges.
Launchpad Santa Cruz brings together parents who want the best for their young adults but feel stuck in the process of shepherding them into adulthood. The initial group will be a place to share concerns, problems, ideas and resources for helping our young adults.
Once established, the goal of Launchpad Santa Cruz is to provide a hub of resources for young Santa Cruzans seeking help with employment, housing, and the skills needed for independent living.
