This group is meant for international or international-minded people around the Lausanne area. Please feel free to join the Meetup trips if you like to meet new people and do outdoor activities together. We organise hiking trips, via ferrata, canyoning, bouldering, or ski trips. Also please feel free to suggest any other ideas if you have a great idea for any kind of outdoor activity :)

---Surrounded by 4000m peaks, Val d’Anniviers is a gorgeous and culturally rich alpine valley, one of the seven large transverse valleys in Valais, skirted by the “Great Crown” which includes Weisshorn, Bishorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn, Matterhorn and Dent Blanche.

Arrival in Zinal in the evening. Dinner is possible if you arrive early enough. Night at Auberge Alpina.Saturday - Glacial cave
Lying a few kilometres away from the village, the Zinal glacier originates from the meeting-point of 3 glaciers: Grand Cornier, Durand and Mountet glaciers.
Snowshoeing while being surrounded by the famous and stunning “Great Crown”, all the way to the Zinal glacier and its glacial cave. Picnic at the cave and return to Zinal. Dinner and night at Auberge Alpina.

Breakfast at Auberge Alpina and bus to St-Luc. Snowshoeing above St-Luc, all the way to the charming Weisshorn Hotel (2337m), with its breathtaking views of the Great Crown. Return to St-Luc in the afternoon where you can catch a bus to go home. Depending on the size and motivation of the group, we might be able to take the funicular from St-Luc in order so save some uphill walking and therefore be able to walk all the way to Lake Touno at 2660m.

- Sunday: St-Luc, poste 16:30 - 18:46 Lausanne, gare (via Sierre) - depending on the time the event finishes
If you are traveling by car, you can park at Auberge Alpina in Zinal and drive to St-Luc on Sunday morning.

You will receive an email with a form to fill in a few days before the event, where you can inform us about which items you’d like to rent. These can be paid by cash or Twint on the event day.

Join us for the 5th edition of the Jungfrau Winter Sports Weekend at the charming Mountain Hostel in Gimmelwald, in the gorgeous Lauterbrunnen valley. A tremendous place with the most beautiful views of the Bernese Oberland 4000ers.
Event description
We all meet at the Mountain Hostel in Gimmelwald on Friday evening for a fun, social and active weekend in the Jungfrau region!
The hostel is located within the Jungfrau ski resort. Two valleys, three mountain ranges and 211 kilometres of perfectly prepared pistes. The winter paradise with the backdrop of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau offers skiers and snowboarders everything their hearts desire: gentle slopes, steep drops, snow and fun parks, racing tracks and powder parties. Mürren-Schilthorn area, where the hostel is, has a lot of pleasure runs and steep slopes for skiers, adrenaline rushes for snowboarders and magical snow for winter hikers.
We will be all together for breakfasts, dinners, drinks, guitar playing around the campfire, and during the day you're free to do whatever you feel like doing: skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, winter hiking, chilling at the pool or spa in Mürren... There is something for every taste!
Jochem Schut, ski instructor, will be there all weekend for private ski lessons on Saturday or Sunday, for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers. Here are the prices for private ski lessons:
- 1-hour lesson: CHF 50 for 1 person or CHF 80 for 2 persons
- 2-hour lesson: CHF 90 for 1 person or CHF 140 for 2 persons

If you are traveling from Lausanne by public transport, we recommend you the following:- Friday: Lausanne, gare 14:17 - 18:11 Gimmelwald, Schilthornbahn - You can also arrive earlier or later!
If you are traveling by car, you can park at Parkplatz Schilthornbahn. The parking fee for the weekend is CHF 22.

Guided 8-Day Hike from Verbier to Zermatt on the Haute Route

---120 kilometers, 8800 meters of elevation gain, 8 days, 7 valleys, 9 passes, including 7 higher than 2800m, views of all the 4000's of the Valais... This 8-day section of the famous Haute Route, which links Chamonix to Zermatt, the Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn, will give you the best overview of the magnificent valleys of the canton of Valais, always with 4000's in the background.
Event description
Day 1: Verbier - Cabane de Louvie
We meet in Le Châble in the morning and take the cable car to Les Ruinettes. We start with a beautiful and relatively flat trail along the Valais bisses (canals), then start the climb on the famous Sentier des Chamois, facing the Combins massif. Once we reach Col Termin at 2648m, we start our descent to the beautiful Cabane de Louvie by Louvie lake, with a breathtaking view of the Grand Combin and the Mauvoisin reservoir. Dinner and night at Cabane de Louvie.

Difficult but stunning day! We start with a climb to Col de Louvie at 2921m. We then cross a landscape of barren rock with massive mountains, tumbling moraines, and drying glaciers and reach the second pass of the day, Col de Prafleuri at 2965m, highest point of the entire hike. Descent to Cabane de Prafleuri for the night.

Day with some easy sections and some challenging ones. Climb to Col des Roux at 2804m and descent on the other side to walk along the giant Lac des Dix. Great views of the Mont Blanc de Cheilon ahead of us and climb to the second pass of the day, Col de Riedmatten at 2918m, before hiking down to the high village of Arolla, where we spend the night.

Private transfer to Mayens du Cotter, above Evolène. Ascent to Col du Tsaté at 2868m, offering us stunning panoramic views of the 4’000 meter peaks of Valais. From there we hike down towards the foot of the Moiry glacier, and up again to sleep at Cabane de Moiry, a hut perched above the glacier, and our highest accommodation at 2826m.

The day starts with a descent from the hut back towards the lake, on the moraine. We traverse on a gorgeous balcony trail above the lake, and climb back up to Corne de Sorebois at 2836m. From there, we take the cable car down to Zinal. Dinner and night at a charming lodge in Zinal.

After walking through the village, we climb in the woods until we reach a stunning panoramic trail that will take us all the way to the Forclettaz pass at 2875m. We then hike down to the next valley and the first German speaking one of our hike, Turtmanntal, and stay at Hotel Schwarzhorn.

Last pass of the Haute Route, the Augstbordpass at 2892m. Varied route through woodlands, pastures and stony wilderness which offers stunning views again. We end in the village of St. Niklaus (cable car from Jungen to St Niklaus), and take a train to Zermatt. From Zermatt, one more little climb to stay at Pension Edelweiss, overlooking Zermatt and facing the Breithorn and other high mountains.

Hike up to and along the Edelweis trail, which offers one of the most stunning panoramic views of Zermatt and its 4’000m peaks and glaciers: North face of Matterhorn, Breithorn, Liskamm... We then hike down to the moraine of the Zmutt glacier, before going through the charming Zmutt village. Return to Zermatt around 15:00.
