Thanksgiving for the Homeless (Hollywood)

Hi.
If anyone isn't traveling, doesn't have plans on Thanksgiving Thursday, and is looking for something productive and social to do--volunteering is worth considering and a good way to meet new & kind people imo. :)
Thanksgiving events tend to be full (several people want to help), so some events might be busy/closed.
If seriously interested, please check and confirm on your own.
In general, you can usually meet other nice & friendly people at these events.
If nobody else signs up from Meetup, you should be able to still volunteer with others who will attend (outside of Meetup).
However, if any group members sign up, feel free to coordinate with each other (where/when to meet, how to find each other, etc.).

Clarification:
I'm not affiliated, associated, nor connected.
Similar to a family member, friend, or co-worker sharing on social media about a restaurant, movie, book, song, etc. they like, I use Meetup to share about volunteer opportunities.
A librarian might not have written the books in a library, but s/he can still recommend books to the public.
So I'm simply suggesting some volunteer events that I think others might be open to helping with.

"Gobble Gobble Give is looking for volunteers on every level. Those who can give food, clothing, or toiletries and those who can donate their time on Thanksgiving day warming, packaging and delivering food."
The start time is sometimes flexible, depending on the location.
If anyone wants to help with the donations (food, clothing, hygiene items), going early before it gets crowded is recommended. For example, they post a start time of 9 am, but arriving early is recommended (especially since parking can be limited).
If helping with distribution, you usually can arrive a little later to pick up items to drive around and pass out the food, clothing, hygiene items to people on streets, sidewalks, parks, freeway entrances/exits, underpasses, bridges, etc.

Note: Holiday events are very popular for helping. This event may be crowded/full with many volunteers, so please keep that in mind if you decide to participate.
From my limited & anecdotal observation, a good # of people help with the food, clothing donations, hygiene items, etc..., but there usually is always a need for more drivers who help deliver items to people on the streets.

Different ways to help (your choice):
— Donate: Give food, bottled water, hygiene items, decent-condition clothes, socks, shoes, blankets, etc. If you are busy, and don't have time to stay or pass out, it's totally fine to just drop off donations and leave.
— Prepare: Make individual meals (to-go boxes) from the donated food. Or help sort the donated clothing and toiletry items in small bags for easier distribution.
— Deliver: Go pass out the food, clothes, hygiene items, etc. This is intended for those who are comfortable with approaching people. Volunteers decide where to drive to (streets, parks, sidewalks, bridges, underpasses, etc.).
This is a community event. Some people just drop off donations (food, bottled water, clothes, hygiene items, etc.). Some go to the designated venue and help with the donations. And some pick up the food & items and drive around, giving it to people in need. Together, everyone contributes in helping others have an enjoyable Thanksgiving.
FYI: Many people attended this event in the past. If it is busy/crowded, thank you for being patient if finding parking is hard or standing/waiting occurs.
