September Theme: Pilgrimage
The September theme invites us to envision life as a kind of pilgrimage — a journey we're traveling with intention, attentiveness, and curiosity. Viewed through this lens, what possibilities open up for moments of wonder, rest and replenishment, care for others, or orienting by your inner compass when you lose your way? What are you traveling toward, and what are you discovering on the journey?
Questions for Reflection and Discussion
- Take a moment to consider when you have made an actual physical pilgrimage somewhere, whether you called it that at the time or not. You might revisit the first paragraph of the introduction to be reminded of the many kinds of pilgrimage, from the simple to the elaborate. Where did you go, and why? What words or feelings come to mind when you reflect on this experience?
- If you think of your life right now as a sacred pilgrimage, what phase of the journey are you in? Are you moving quickly, enjoying a beautiful view, resting, seeking shelter, supporting others, trying to find your way back to the main path, or exploring a new one?
- People on a pilgrimage must be attuned to their surroundings — to stay safe, not get lost, and not miss what’s being offered. Where are you paying close attention in your life? Where are you simply trusting the path as it unfolds?
- A physical pilgrimage is marked by signs along the way. What and who are the essential guideposts in your own life right now? Are you relying on them as needed, or are you trying to find the way all on your own?
- What role does your gratefulness practice play?
Grateful Gatherings is a group in which we share our love and passion for gratitude. If you know the power of gratitude – or you want to know it – and you want to talk about it, learn about it, and grow with other like-minded gratitude folks…then this is the place for you.
Gratitude changes everything, and so does the power of collective intention. Each month, the Grateful Gatherings around the world explore and expand around a common gratitude related theme provided by Grateful Living. Don’t you just love when our Inner Work makes the world a better place too?!
Join us monthly as we connect and grow in gratitude!
This event is free.
Facilitated by Karin Cross.
