Open Shop

Come and share our forging facilities for an art studio like free-form Blacksmithing experience. A less structured format to our conventional curriculum. Bring your own project or simply experiment and explore.

Necessary tools, stock, and materials will be provided but variety is limited. Feel free to bring equipment and materials necessary for custom projects.
Instructors will be available and active to ensure safety and offer tips and guidance. They can help with the brainstorming, outlining, and technical aspects of the Blacksmithing process. Unlike our conventional courses there will be less physical assistance for individual projects, come prepared to test yourself!

Renowned commercial Blacksmith Eric Zieg is available on select dates. He is the trainer and coach for the Lawless Forge Sterling staff. Come learn from the best for more advanced projects.

A maximum limit of 30 patrons each week is necessary to ensure safety and manage instructor capacity. Space for spectators and non participants is available but limited. Instructors cannot guarantee sustained personal attention, you may be asked to step outside your comfort zone.

Please RSVP on Meet Up to provide us with an accurate headcount. Last minute bookings can be accommodated, but please do not arrive unannounced. Short notice requests cannot be guaranteed.

We require all open shop patrons to have taken one of our courses previously before enrolling. This is to ensure the safety of both our instructors and other guests. A brief safety instruction will be given before every session as a neccessary resource.

Payment can be completed through Square or cash in person.
