The Four Agreements: A "Practical" Guide to Personal Freedom

Hey everyone! It's about time I scheduled a meeting. I hope that you all have been well and prosperous, and the start of this new season has been nothing but success. I am really excited about what I have planned for us, also I am looking forward to some great thought provoking conversations.
As teens, we are always told what to do, and how and when to do it. But what is the most frustrating part is that most of the time we are confused as how to balance our external and internal emotions to create an all around happiness.
Last year I studied the book The Four Agreements and I couldn't put it down. It is written by Don Miguel Ruiz, who has studied ancient Toltec teachings since the 70's. Basically there are four rules, or ways to live your life. We will talk about the first chapter called "BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD" on the first meeting, and each subsequent Meetup we will finish the other chapters. It would be cool if you could have the first chapter read by the Meetup but it is not necessary. Below is a link to a site where you can read the first chapter if you would like.
Things we will discuss.

  • Is this just an opinion or are we supposed to incorporate this into our lives?
  • How to only say what you mean.
  • How to avoid speaking negatively about yourself and how not to gossip about others.

I welcome any teen boy or girl ages 13-18. We will be meeting on the same nights as the adults, and so location won't be an issue. The parents have potluck so we will share with them for the first 30 minutes and then we will break off into our own space.
If you are coming with your parents, become a member and join our group and R.S.V.P. that you are coming!

"Use your words in the direction of truth and love and you will see the drama disappear right before your eyes"
