Backpacking Trip - Bryon Reece to Blood Mountain to Lake Winfield Scott.
Details
We will shuttle together and leave a car near the Winfield Scott Lake trailhead Parking.  Then we will start from the Byron Reese trailhead Hike up blood Mountain. . will spend a couple of hours at the top of the mountain. Then we’ll Hike two or 3 miles down and Camp along the way in the designated campsite. On Sunday will have an easy hike back out to the car. We may do some side trails on Sunday morning as well. Will be hiking on the Appalachian Trail most of the weekend.
This Hike is for experienced backpackerskers who have technical Backpacking equipment including tent, water filters, bear vault (required on blood mountain and Appalachian trail). Strict adherence to Bear mitigation tactics is required.
The limit is set to 4 so join the waiting list if you are interested and I will reach out to you.
If you are new to Backpacking and want to go along with us, please let me know. Will help you evaluate whether you are ready for it. Will help you purchase the right equipment. But be ready for a very strenuous uphills with 30 lbs on your back. 1400 feet of elevation.

Meeting Location:
We are going to work out a shuttle from Winfield Scott to Byron Reece. I will contact participants to work out shuttles.

We will begin promptly at the listed time. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early so we can start together.
This group is for people ages 18 and over who are Meetup members, no guest registrations.
We welcome beginners who are able to do the elevation with 30lbs on your back and the right gear.
