Let's Make Something!
Slow Pour Brewing Company, 407 North Clayton Street, Lawrenceville, GA, USLet’s Make Something is for anyone looking for a creative outlet while meeting fellow hot queers/creatives/misfits in Metro ATL.
These events will be focused on low-barrier creative activities that should be fun and approachable whether you have art experience or consider yourself a terrible artist.
I am definitively not an art teacher, but I am a bookseller and creativity-lover :) so we’ll be going through “Draw it with your Eyes Closed: The Art of the Art Assignment”, which features all sorts of activities that encourage us to break out of the box in our brains and have fun.
In our first gathering, we'll go through an exercise of the Line Time podcast together, which is hosted by the amazing Lettie Jane Rennekamp (whose incredible and accessible art classes jumpstarted my own creativity when I lived in Portland).
This is a chance for us to make some fun things without taking ourselves too seriously.
BYO materials OR bring $5 and Nomad Nirvana will bring some basics for you (Venmo, card, tap, and cash accepted). Comment below if you will need materials so I can plan how much to bring :)Consider donating to Lettie Jane’s podcast to say “thank you” for this first exercise, and consider purchasing the book from our shop! Meetups are always free but your purchases and donations help keep us running and are VERY appreciated if you’re in a position to do so.
