Friday the 13th sandhill crane viewing at Los Poblanos Fields Open Space
Details
Last minute, but who's up for looking at sandhill cranes on Friday? Sunset is at 5:45. This is a slooow and gentle loop under 2 miles. We'll start from the dirt lot and go west, clockwise around the fields, stopping whenever we see something shiny. Let's look up in the trees and down at the fields. What was growing here? Who's singing? Maybe we'll get lucky and see a coyote or two.
Los Poblanos Fields Open Space & Farm Trails is one of the last remaining large agricultural spaces in the city. Farmers are required to use a portion of their field for wildlife crops, which migrating birds feed on with gusto. This will be our easiest "hike" ever!
This is the Open Space off Montano, NOT the fancy hotel/restaurant.
